Hydra is part of the Saronic Islands and just one hour away from Piraeus Port. Once you step foot on the island you feel the magic. Hydra is known for its rich heritage and history. On each side of the port there are the Bastions with Cannons which protected the town. You will be convinced by Hydra's uniqueness, because of its picturesque cobble stone streets and a town that is built amphitheatrically around the port. There are no cars or bikes on Hydra, so tune in to the quiet island life but yet an intense and very cosmopolitan nightlife. With many cafes, taverns, restaurants, boutiques, galleries there is a choice for everyone. Visit the many beaches or follow a trail (by walking or riding a donkey) to one of the monasteries.
